Her songs are beautiful, although after an hour they do all start to sound a bit the same, so perhap

Lana Del Rey looked frumpy, lacked stage presence, missed notes, and left without doing an encore – but she still managed to turn in a really great show at the Monte Carlo Opera House on Saturday night.  Her beautiful voice soared through its considerable range as she took the audience through a series of hits.
Opening up with “ Blue Jeans ”, Lana stood more or less immobile throughout the show, in a dress that looked like she’d chosen it to wear to Church. In fact there could be a connection - her band included a drummer with a hood who looked like an extra from “The Name of the Rose”.  A string section also accompanied crackers games her as she drifted through the songs that have made her famous – “ Carmen”, “Summertime Sadness”, “Ride”, “Video Games”, “National Anthem” …
Backed by clips from her videos, Lana’s 1950’s Amercian teenage dream image was at odds with the reality standing in front of us looking frankly like a somewhat awkward and bookish student in her best party dress.  After the visits from Beyoncé, Gaga, Madonna , this was something more basic, with the voice left to do all the work of captivating the audience.
Her songs are beautiful, although after an hour they do all start to sound a bit the same, so perhaps it’s just as well she knocked crackers games off promptly allowing the well-heeled, not-so-young and beautiful Monaco crackers games audience to disgorge en masse into the Buddha Bar next door.
Nice Jazz Festival 2013 line-up announced
